AI-moderated interviews under review: how do they compare to surveys and human moderation? This panel presents early, independent evidence from the Glaut Research on Research program, a long-standing collaboration with universities and agencies designed to test AIMIs (AI-moderated interviews) in real research settings.Independent researchers from three institutions examine the implications of these studies for practitioners: when AIMIs provide value, when they fall short, and how to critically evaluate them within a broader research toolkit.Who is involved
- Curtin University (Australia): Prof. Billy Sung presents research comparing AI and human moderation, incorporating biometric measures to assess engagement and cognitive responses.
- University of Mannheim (Germany): Researchers share findings from a controlled comparison of AIMIs vs. surveys, focusing on data quality, response depth, and participant behavior.
- Human Highway (Italy): Amina Aini discusses applied agency research comparing AIMIs and traditional surveys in commercial projects.
The session is moderated by Veronica from Glaut Research. Glaut oversees the Research on Research program but does not interfere with study design, fieldwork, or analysis. All studies are conceived, executed, and interpreted independently by the participating institutions
