A global streaming service relied heavily on qualitative research, with a team of 50 researchers managing approximately 400 projects each year and generating an estimated 8,400 hours of research content annually. The manual analysis of video transcripts, interview notes, and open-ended survey responses took around 1.5 hours for every hour of interviews. This time-intensive process slowed the move from research findings to strategic decisions and limited researchers’ ability to focus on higher-value analysis.
During an evaluation period, the Consumer Insights team at a global streaming service used CoLoop, an AI analysis platform for qualitative and open-ended research. Senior Researcher Emily Iujvidin applied CoLoop to a video podcast study featuring 12 in-depth interviews, following a 30-minute onboarding session. She used CoLoop’s chat feature to answer stakeholder questions, find verbatim responses, and use the grid feature to compare participants across interviews, without any previous experience with the platform.
Analysis time for the 12-interview project dropped from 18 hours to 6 hours, representing a 66% reduction. CoLoop’s projected 50% saving across the wider research programme could save 8,400 analysis hours each year, equivalent to 210 work weeks, four additional full-time researchers, or approximately $400,000 in salary costs.
“I wish I had used CoLoop from the beginning; the previous tool I used was less efficient and very clunky, so it took a long time to get quick insights.” — Emily Iujvidin, Senior Researcher, Entertainment Ecosystem CI, a global streaming service
