Are you a qualitative researcher who wants to create positive impact with your research?

Do you work for a charity or NGO with limited budget for research?

The Insights for Impact Award is for qualitative research in support of a good cause.

You provide the research expertise and we’ll give you the tools and some budget to make it happen. You’ll also get the chance to showcase your work to a global audience of your peers.

What’s the prize?

The winning entry for the qualatative research project will receive:

  • Insights for Impact award from Insight Platforms, sponsored by Recollective
  • Tools and funds to conduct the proposed project within 1 month of the announcement:
    • Up to 1 months’ free use of the Recollective platform – unlimited asynchronous activities, up to 8 hours of live activities and associated support) to conduct the project.
    • A US $1,000 contribution to recruitment and incentive costs.
  • The option to present the project as a case study to a global audience in a webinar hosted and promoted by Insight Platforms.

FAQ

Any researcher can submit an entry. Entries must be for an online qualitative research project on behalf of a charity or non-profit organisation.

If you are a researcher employed by an agency, your entry will be as an individual – not on behalf of your agency.

Entries will be submitted in video format using the form below. The entries will be judged by an expert panel and the best five will be selected as finalists. the final winner be be selected by an open vote of attendees to the Insights to Action Summit in Oct 2025.

The prize includes free software and support services to conduct the project, together with up a $1,000 contribution to recruitment and incentive costs.

The research project is the responsibility of the winning researcher, and they will be accountable for all research design, moderation, analysis, reporting and compliance with data protection for any participant data.

As a sponsor of the award Recollective is happy to not only supply the winners with the technology to support their research approach but also the 1:1 custom training to ensure the project is a success.

The Recollective platform can be used for as much or as little as the winner needs in order to complete their study.

This can include using built-in screening tool to help assist with recruiting participants and access to asynchronous and real-time research activities.

The Asynchronous Activities can be set up so that participants go through a series of questions ONCE or they can be set up as a journal if you want to capture responses to the series of questions over time. You can include as many activities or discussions as you like within your Study Design.

You will also have access to Real-Time activities to run online focus groups, IDIs or live text-based chat sessions.

The live sessions can include up to 8 hours of video. This can be broken out into any duration and size you need (from short 15-minute IDIs all the way up to hour-long focus groups).

The platform is available to use for any study duration up to one month and up to 100 participants.

Access to the Recollective platform will be just for this project and not to be used for other paid research.
