Danone, a global food and beverage company, needed to refine the brand strategy for its YoPRO high-protein yogurt range by understanding the underlying triggers and barriers influencing consumer purchasing decisions. The objective was to gain a comprehensive view of consumer behaviour across different markets and demographics, with particular focus on the nuances driving purchase decisions and loyalty among various consumer groups. This depth of cross-market understanding was essential for identifying opportunities to enhance consumer engagement and inform future product launches.
Danone worked with BoltChatAI, using its AI-driven qualitative research platform to conduct interviews with 320 consumers across four markets. The research incorporated visual stimuli of YoPRO products to explore triggers and barriers to purchasing behaviour in the high-protein yogurt segment. BoltChatAI conducted interviews with consumers in their native languages and translated responses for the Danone team. The platform then analysed 6,400 lines of bespoke consumer feedback to surface rapid, actionable insights from the dataset.
The research enabled Danone to refine YoPRO’s brand messaging, improving consumer engagement and brand loyalty. Understanding consumer preferences across markets supported optimised product launches and the development of growth strategies. The feedback also identified commercial opportunities, enabling more informed decision-making and strengthening YoPRO’s market position.
