Bauer Media, Europe’s largest magazine publisher, has a portfolio spanning more than 200 magazines and over 150 audio brands. Its research team relied on fully manual data cleaning across its survey programme. For each wave of its magazine readership tracker, the team reviewed every case by hand, checking response times, answer plausibility and open-ended responses. While dependable, this process took significant time and resources and offered no consistent, scalable standard across waves or panel providers.
