Pabst Brewing Company, one of America’s oldest breweries, has a portfolio that includes Pabst Blue Ribbon, Lone Star and Rainier. Its lean Consumer Insights team supports data-driven product innovation and marketing. However, its existing research platforms lacked the flexibility, affordability and data quality the team needed. They did not support advanced methods such as conjoint and TURF analysis, while high costs made scaling difficult. Poor data quality, including inflated purchase intent scores, also hindered decision-making and required oversampling.

Pabst selected SightX, Rep Data’s AI-powered research and insights platform, for its flexible and cost-effective approach to DIY research. The team used four advanced methods in its regular research programme: concept testing to assess more than 40 concepts on purchase intent, continuous brand health tracking, TURF and conjoint analysis to optimise product offerings, and Gabor-Granger pricing analysis. Reliable, granular data and strong customer support, including a successful trial period, supported the team’s adoption of the platform.

Moving brand health tracking to SightX reduced research costs by more than 80%, allowing Pabst to reinvest the savings in a record number of projects. The team evaluated more than 40 concepts for purchase intent, uniqueness and relevance, while four advanced methods became part of its regular research programme. Improved data reliability removed the need for oversampling and helped the team respond faster to market trends.

SightX is truly a researcher’s platform. Its flexibility is virtually limitless, from piping and routing to conditional logic. It’s intuitive and has it all.” — Bill Duncan, Consumer Insights, Pabst Brewing Company.
